Fire Wise

Today Firefighters Malcolm, Nick, Han and Greg came to talk to Rooms 1, 2 and 3 about fire safety.
They gave us some special homework to do - check that the smoke alarms at home are working!

This is what we learned:
Billy and Cooper: Smoke is dangerous to breathe so "Get down, get low, get out fast". If there is a fire at home go outside and don't go back inside.
Cameron and Pia: Do not play with matches.
Oliver and Chin Fu: Do not put a candle near a curtain. Always use a candle holder.
Tanav and Diego: If your bedroom is burning "Get down, get low, get out fast".
Flynn and Jude: Fire can burn curtains very fast. It is very hard to see in smoke.
Thanmaya and Maddy: If there is a fire and you are playing - stop playing and get outside fast.
Samuel, Ari and Rafa: Do not play with lighters - they are a tool. Give them to an adult.
Eliza and Rinoa: Do not play with matches and lighters - they are dangerous. Give them to an adult.
Louis and George: Lighters and matches are tools for adults not kids.

Hopefully they will bring the fire engine next Friday.
