Fire Wise

Today Firefighters Malcolm, Nick, Han and Greg came to talk to Rooms 1, 2 and 3 about fire safety.
They gave us some special homework to do - check that the smoke alarms at home are working!

This is what we learned:
Billy and Cooper: Smoke is dangerous to breathe so "Get down, get low, get out fast". If there is a fire at home go outside and don't go back inside.
Cameron and Pia: Do not play with matches.
Oliver and Chin Fu: Do not put a candle near a curtain. Always use a candle holder.
Tanav and Diego: If your bedroom is burning "Get down, get low, get out fast".
Flynn and Jude: Fire can burn curtains very fast. It is very hard to see in smoke.
Thanmaya and Maddy: If there is a fire and you are playing - stop playing and get outside fast.
Samuel, Ari and Rafa: Do not play with lighters - they are a tool. Give them to an adult.
Eliza and Rinoa: Do not play with matches and lighters - they are dangerous. Give them to an adult.
Louis and George: Lighters and matches are tools for adults not kids.

Hopefully they will bring the fire engine next Friday.

Fabric and Fibre Art

This afternoon we made sheep pictures using fabric and sheep wool (fleece).

First we had to make a fringe edging on our piece of hessian.

Then we added the sheep using felt and wool.

Mrs Brazier has taken them home so she can put them on a background, We can't wait to see the finished art work!
