Kitchen Chemistry

Today we started our Inquiry unit by doing a fun experiment "Raising Raisins".  We put some raisins into a jar of  warm water and they all sank to the bottom of the glass.



.  

Then Mrs Andrew put some baking soda and vinegar into the glass and the raisins started to bounce up and down in the glass. 






It was exciting to watch the raisins.....can you tell someone at home why the raisins bounced around?
